About Destined Horizons Foundation

Creating Mental Health Access for All

Founded by Dr. Carmy Aristor, Destined Horizons Foundation was created to bridge the gap between underserved communities and accessible mental health care.

Our mission is to expand access to trauma-informed education, strengthen caregivers, and support family resilience through evidence-based training, peer support, and community engagement.

We believe that healing starts with understanding, and we are here to support that journey through education, compassion, and community programs.

Our team works to deliver:

  • Trauma-Informed Caregiver Training & Workshops
  • Youth Wellness and Transition Toolkit
  • Quarterly Community Wellness Pop-Up Clinics

Our Programs

Destined Horizons Foundation is currently implementing its first flagship program, the Pilot Foster Family Trauma-Informed Training Series, designed to provide sustained education and support for caregivers over six months. Our evaluation and feedback systems ensure continuous improvement and measurable impact.

Pilot Foster Family Trauma-Informed Training Series

A six-month training and support initiative designed to build caregiver knowledge and skills within the Georgia foster care context. This series integrates trauma-informed practice, attachment science, emotional regulation strategies, and reflective peer supervision to support caregiver capacity, reduce secondary traumatic stress, and promote stable placements for children and youth with complex trauma histories.

Youth Wellness and Transition Toolkit

A preventive skill-building program tailored for youth in foster care and those aging out of care. The toolkit focuses on emotional regulation, independent living skills, self-advocacy, and resilience to prepare youth for successful transitions to adulthood and reducing barriers to stability and community engagement.

Community Wellness Pop-Up Clinics

Quarterly outreach events that bring trauma-responsive education, resource navigation, and early intervention supports into local communities. These clinics focus on caregiver stress management, youth emotional wellness, and connection to DFCS partners, licensed providers, and support networks to strengthen family resilience.
